Long time friends Lisa Petges and Maura McKee made their dream of opening a health and wellness spa a reality last year when they opened Waves Aesthetics in Ponte Vedra Beach.
The original plan was to open the spa in March of 2020, but after the pandemic hit, they readjusted those plans and opened Wave Aesthetics in mid-summer.
With over twenty-five years of experience in the spa and beauty industry, Petges and McKee now offer a wide variety of services at their spa that span wellness both inside and out.
There are over 5 different kinds of facials that guests can select while at the spa, such as an Elevated Oxygen Facial, which is designed to strengthen skin’s elasticity and help eliminate bacteria, or the Hydra Luxx Facial, which provides a stunning combination of gentle exfoliation, pneumatic suction, extraction, and hydration serum Infusion. This spa also offers waxing, lash/brow tinting, teeth whitening, acne treatments, RF micro needling, dermaplaning, and more.
Perhaps their most popular offering are their cryotherapy treatment options, which include a Chin Cryo, a Cryo Body Treatment, and a Cryo Facial.
Last Thursday night, Waves Aesthetics hosted a Chillin with Cryo night at Nona Blue Tavern to offer specials and demonstrations of their new cryo technology. The event was limited, due to pandemic related concerns, but the cocktail party was an opportunity for Waves Aesthetics to meet more people in the Ponte Vedra community.
“I think that everybody got to see the results from the demonstration that we did,” said Petges when asked about her favorite part of the night. “People got excited because you can actually see immediate results when we use the cryo-machine.”
Waves Aesthetics is unique to the area thanks to their friendly staff and flexibility. Petges said that the initial consultation is an important step in a patient’s wellness journey because it allows the staff to access a clear and efficient path.
“We think about the wellness of the patient. We do not sell them something that we do not think is going to work,” she said.
